An arc spray gun is a natural material in the form of metallic wires that is melted by means of an electric arc. Arc Spray Gun is mostly used for the coating on the cylinder bores of an engine. The heated material is atomized by compressed air and launched towards the workpiece of an element.

It allows the employment of an aluminum cylinder block externally having heavy cast iron sleeves. An arc is used to melts the wire. This plasma set by given an arc between a non-consumable cathode and wire which is required for coating.

An Arc Spray Gun uses two metallic wires as the coating of the raw materials. The two wires are electrically charged with reversing polarity and stay fed into the arc gun. When the wires are preferred together at the blasting nozzle of the flame spray gun, the opposite charges on the wires create sufficient heat to regularly decrease the tips of the wires. After that Air compressor is applied to atomize the heated material and accelerate it onto the workpiece surface to produce the coating.

The method of non-flammable gases and the risk of using dry-air as the atomizing gas prepare the process more harmless and even more cost-efficient.

After the gas heating area is very small, the atomizing gas has a comparatively low temperature, decreasing the rate of heat transfer to the substrate.
