Large venture nozzles are mostly preferred for bridge repainting and for all those large applications which cannot be performed by using small nozzles. On the other hand, medium and small size nozzles are used to fulfill smaller operations like surface preparation for further thermal spray coating.
Nozzles of different materials are used for different applications like, aluminum oxide which is also known as tungsten carbide or ceramic, made up of high-density metal. Other nozzles like boron sandblasting nozzles are used with very hard abrasive media. Roctec blasting nozzles are also used for blasting applications. They provide much resistance against abrasion but are very expensive. They are available in all sizes. Most of the nozzles have a thread size of 1-1/4 inch. Although, different thread sizes are available for different sandblasting applications.
