Flame Spray Gun in Chennai

A flame spray gun involves blowing a plastic powder through a flame that partially melts the powder and fuses it because it contacts the substrate. The part's surface is preheated with the flame. The standard approach is to coat only a few square meters at a time, so the temperature can be controlled. The flame is then adjusted. When the coating is completed, the powder is shut off and therefore the coating is post-heated with the flame. Flame spraying is especially useful for coating products with surface areas overlarge for heating.

Flame Spray Gun

A flame spray gun consists of a nozzle in which a combination of oxygen and fuel like acetylene, propane, or hydrogen is injected. The gas mixture is combusted in the front of the nozzle to make a flame external to the nozzle. counting on the ratio of oxygen to fuel, the temperature of the flame ranges between 3000 and 3300°C. The selection of the nozzle design depends on the coating material, which may be in the form of either powder or wire. A cold air cover is used to collimate the flame to regulate the spray pattern. In the powder feed system, the coating material is gravity fed to the gun from a sand blasting hopper. The powder particles melt during the transition through the flame and deposit on the substrate. within the wire feed system, the wire tip is continually fed into the flame by a roller drive mechanism. The molten material at the tip of the wire is fragmented and propelled to the substrate by compressed gas injection. The wire diameter and feed rate, air and gas flow rates, flame temperature, and pressure determine the coating properties.

Types of Flame Spray Gun

Wire Flame Spray Gun

In a wire flame spray gun, the oxy-fuel flame is used to melt the wires. To generate a spray of a stream that applies to coat on the surface to spray on an entity. A Spray gun is for spray both ferrous & nonferrous material. Important applications are restoring worn-out components, conductivity, and anti-corrosion coating.

Powder flame spray gun

The main benefit of this method is that a much wider variety of materials (such as nickel or cobalt-based self Fixing composites or ceramic substances) can be easily treated into powder form providing a greater choice of coatings. Many compounds are difficult or cannot be presented in a wire form and for this purpose, it was produced.

Advantages of Flame Spray Gun

  • Low cost.
  • Easy to operate.
  • Simple in design, and dust and fumes levels are lower.
  • High spray rate with low gas consumption.
  • Can be used with both hard and soft wires.
